In 1977, the producers of SNL wanted Costello to perform the song Less Than Zero instead of the more controversial song Radio Radio. Costello started playing Less Than Zero, then stopped and launched into a scathing performance of his song that criticized rock radio and the corporate interests behind it. 30 years later the song is still relevant.

The man who shot and paralyzed Wallace during a 1972 presidential campaign stop was released from prison after serving 35 years of his sentence. Arthur H. Bremer, 57, left the prison before sunrise. Bremer's diary, parts of which were found in a landfill in 1980, made it clear he was motivated by a desire for attention, not a political agenda.
